Hello, I'm Shanah.
As a math enthusiast and dedicated educator, I've always been passionate about helping students succeed in mathematics. My journey began in high school, where I started helping my math teacher explain complex concepts to my peers.
Growing up, I was always confident in my math abilities, earning straight-A grades and earning the nickname "math whiz" among my teachers and peers. However, my experience with the SAT was a different story. Despite my academic achievements, I struggled with the test and ended up with a disappointing score.
This experience taught me that success on the SAT isn't just about being smart; it's also about strategy and preparation. As I navigated the college application process, I faced significant financial challenges due to limited scholarship opportunities and substantial student loans.
These experiences motivated me to pursue a career in education, with a focus on SAT prep and math tutoring. I earned my PhD in Mathematics Education and founded Sharpe Sessions Math Tutoring. Today, I'm proud to lead a team that helps students achieve exceptional results, including over $4 million in scholarships and admissions into top colleges like Duke, Cornell, Howard University, GA Tech, North Carolina A&T, and George Washington University.
My mission is to empower students to achieve their academic goals and secure their financial futures. I believe that every student deserves access to high-quality educational resources, regardless of their background or financial situation. From tap and jazz to hip-hop and funk, I took every dance class I could as a kid. When I decided to make fitness a priority, I thought I needed to hit the gym. It turns out I just needed to get back on the dance floor. Now I'm sharing my moves and helping others lead a healthy lifestyle through virtual fitness classes.
