Welcome to the New Semester!
The start of a new school year is a fresh slate—and the perfect time for parents to set the tone for math success.
Here are 3 simple ways to help your child thrive this semester:
-
Create a Study Routine Early
Set aside consistent study times before the homework piles up. This helps students avoid cramming and builds confidence little by little. -
Celebrate Progress, Not Just Perfection
Whether it’s mastering fractions or tackling their first quadratic equation, every win matters. Small celebrations build momentum. -
Check In Weekly
Ask your child: “What’s one thing you learned this week?” This opens dialogue, helps you spot challenges early, and reinforces retention.
Pro tip: Don’t wait until grades slip—partner with a math tutor early so your child starts strong and stays strong. Click below to partner with us:

Student Spotlight: Paige Durst
This week, we’re celebrating Paige—a shining example of perseverance and hard work.
Paige has been with Sharpe Sessions since high school, and now as a college junior, she continues to lean on strategy, discipline, and support to excel in her toughest courses.
This summer, she closed out Organic Chemistry with an A—a huge accomplishment in one of the most challenging STEM classes.
👏 We salute Paige for her resilience, focus, and drive. She proves that math confidence and strong study strategies don’t just open doors in high school—they pave the way for success in college and beyond.
Here’s what Paige had to say when she finised her Chemistry course:
"I got a 95% on my last exam and ended the class with an A."
P.S. Did you know we also offer tutoring for science classes like Physics and Chemistry? Ask us today about adding science support for your student.

Quote of the Week

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”
— Robert Collier
Math confidence isn’t built overnight—it’s the product of steady, consistent effort. One problem solved, one strategy practiced, one review session completed… each small effort stacks up over time.
For students, this means showing up daily, even on the hard days, and trusting that progress is being made. For parents, it’s the reminder that encouragement and structure at home are just as powerful as the tutoring sessions themselves.
The real secret weapon? Consistency. Whether in math, academics, or life, the students who thrive are the ones who keep showing up, step by step, until success becomes inevitable.

How to Solve Systems of Equations FAST on the SAT
When it comes to the SAT, time management is everything. Systems of equations often slow students down—but they don’t have to.
In this week’s video, Dr. Grant shows your child how to:
✔️ Solve a systems question by hand step-by-step
✔️ Use Desmos to solve it in seconds
✔️ Save time and boost accuracy on test day
If your teen is aiming for a 1450+ score, mastering Desmos isn’t just helpful—it’s a game-changer. Most students overlook this tool, but it can mean the difference between an average score and a scholarship-worthy one.
Watch now and give your child the edge they need to finish strong!
