Dr. Grant is an experienced mathematician who is passionate about helping students overcome their fear of math and excel in it. Her passion extends to helping others build mathematical knowledge, understanding and critical thinking skills. She is highly knowledgeable in mathematics and strives to make a positive influence in her community through research, tutoring, and educating students and parents about financial literacy. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, a Master of Science degree in Mathematics, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics, with a focus in Collegiate Mathematics Education. Her experience in education has allowed her to conduct research with government entities such at The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center and the Wright Patterson Air-force Research Laboratory.
Dr. Grant currently works as an Assistant Professor at an institution
known to graduate the top number of black students with math degrees and an adjunct math instructor at a Technical College in the metro Atlanta area. At her home institution, she oversees a $1.4 million National Science Foundation (NSF) grant where she awards full-ride scholarships to students pursuing a bachelors degree in mathematics and related areas. As the C.E.O and Founder of Sharpe Sessions, she leads a team of dynamic tutors who offers online tutoring services to help students build their confidence in math and learn different strategies for tackling math problems. With Dr. Grant's assistance, students gain a better grasp of math that will serve them well in the classroom and beyond.
Dr. Grant is also a licensed financial professional and finds great pleasure in closing the wealth gap among the African American community. She is the author of educational books, notably her book - "A Toolkit for Raising Wealthy Kidz," which guides parents on cultivating, preserving, and passing on a lasting legacy of wealth to their children and future generations.
