Hello, my name is Shanah K. Grant. I am a Jamaican native who moved to Atlanta, GA at the age of fifteen. I am a Mathematician who strives to make a positive difference in my community through giving back, conducting research, tutoring, teaching and giving professional talks. I am also a well-rounded individual who is diverse and open to innovative experiences. I have a strong passion for Math and would love to share my passion with as many persons as possible!

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Fort Valley State University; a Master of Science Degree in Mathematics from Jackson State University; and a Ph.D. in Mathematics at Georgia State University with a focus in Collegiate Mathematics Education (specializing in teaching mathematics). I have over 10 years of tutoring experience in Mathematics and over 4 years of teaching experience in Mathematics at the collegiate level. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Fort Valley State University and an adjunct instructor at Georgia Piedmont Technical College.

Over the years, I've noticed that there is a gap in the knowledge of mathematics, among students, that needs to be filled. Hence, I created Sharpe Sessions with the hope of helping to bridge that gap. Math is not as hard as most people think! If we have the right teacher(s) and or tutor(s), we can grow confidence in doing math and thus grow to love it, as well as excel in it!
